Setting Up Your Company Blog

Company blogs are set up differently from personal blogs that seem to be the new trend everyone communicates what is going on in their lives to contacts and even people they just met online.

A company blog should be a reflection of the company itself and is something that is directly related. This means that there are other internet marketing tools that must be think over and over make certain that the blog and the business website work together to create the ideal situation for internet marketing, networking, and income making. One of the things to think about are hosted or self-hosting the name and title, the target customers and topics to be covered to start with.

The first on the list to consider is the target customers and make a name and title that is relevant both to your company and to the customers you are trying to reach. The subject lines for blogs as well as the titles for them are always optimized in order to drive people looking for that certain topic so this is something to consider eagerly.

The next thing to do is to figure out if you want to host your blog by yourself or get one that is hosted. After that, it's time to register the domain; this is usually the company or company owner's name that the blog will belong to. This step is very important since this will relate to your website. When doing this be sure that it is something easy to remember and as short as possible. This will make it convenient for your customers and future customers to visit your site again and again.

After your done with your domain name, the platform you will be using is next on the list of things to do when making your blog. For example, using wordpress or problogger as your platform which leads into the next question of either hosted or self hosted. When you get the service of a hosting company you are using the server space of a third party self-hosted means that you use their software, and install your blog on your own server space. The decision on either to go for a hosting company or for a self-hosting depends on your individual needs. Plenty of companies may not have their own server space because because it is expensive while some companies may prefer to handle all of the details of their internet presence through their own equipment.

Next step is coding and the general layout of your blog, making sure it is related to your business. You can add something that would be considered a plugin like archives, chat boxes and useful plugins. Once you are done putting up your blog you are ready to get started using a blog to earn money on the internet. The last step is to consider the different income generating options that can be done with your company blog, this can be done through affiliates, sponsorships or online advertising like Adwords.
